About Us

Loaf Hairstylists was founded in 2005 by two entrepreneurial friends – Richard Darlow and Craig Wilson.
Richard had previously been one of the top UK salon managers for Regis and has won many business and hair industry awards. Craig has had a very successful career as a professional business manager. Together, they make quite a team.
Their first salon was opened in Woodseats which is a suburb of Sheffield. The whole experience was filmed by Channel 4’s ‘Risking it All’ programme and was deemed as being the most successful business of the series.
A second salon was opened in Broomhill, Sheffield, in 2006.
The business now employs over 30 staff.
The future plans for the business involve Franchising as well as continuing to expand through company owned salons.
The business aim is for the company to be recognised throughout the country as a hair salon that not only brings city centre quality into the suburbs but also sell good quality retail products.
What is Our Unique Selling Point
‘City Centre Quality Styling in the Suburbs’
Loaf Hairstylists cater for clients who would usually travel into the city centre and pay higher prices for better hair services. At Loaf, we offer these high service standards and more, in the suburbs, saving the client a fraught journey into the city.
Once inside the salon, we feel that the unpretentious and friendly atmosphere of our salons, coupled with our high customer service standards play a major part in the success of Loaf.
Like to Own Your Own Hairdressing Salon?

Owning a Loaf Hairstylists salon is ideal for enthusiastic people who want not only to be part of a growing and successful brand but also want to have an active role within the lives of their community.
It is a rewarding opportunity for those who want to work for themselves but who would also value the purchasing and marketing support from an established company.
Although it would help, you do not need any previous hairdressing experience.
What you do need is lots of energy, have an out-going personality with good presentation and verbal skills and have an affinity with wanting your clients to feel good about their hairdressing experience within your Loaf salon.
Costs and Rewards

A. No. Management experience would be very useful though.

A. Loaf Hair is a new, fresh company that has, at an early stage, obtained national TV exposure, has a wider range of property options and trades in areas that other well known salons leave alone ie the city centre suburb.
Q. How long will the Franchise Agreement last and is it renewable?
A. Five years. It can then be renewed for a further five years and so on.
Q. Do I have to purchase all my stock from Loaf?
A. Yes you do and from accredited suppliers. By doing so you will benefit from the bulk purchasing discounts that we are able to obtain. This enables you to achieve a high gross margin.
Q. What training will I need?
A. We have developed a training package that will ensure that you have a full working knowledge of how to manage your Loaf Hairstylists Franchise.
Q. Can I open more than one salon?
A. Yes but you will not be encouraged to do so until you are able to demonstrate that you have successfully managed your first one!
